ALGEBRA

MATH XL HAS BEEN DOWN FOR 2 DAYS. I am also unable to access this software. Therefore, lesson 2-4 homework will be the Lesson Check on page 105. Please complete #1 - 9. There will be a quiz after we complete lesson 2-5. Prior assignments may be completed without penalty when we can access Math XL again.


MJ2

Our Topic 1 Test was today. Student that wish to improve their grade should plan to stay after school on Thursday to complete test corrections on the problems they missed. A second date will be added next week if needed.  In the meantime students should review their test and study accordingly.

Homework for tonight is i-Ready.  Students are expected to complete and pass three lessons per week in i-Ready.

I have just received word that Pearson is aware of the Error issue that students are encountering, and they are working to correct it.

AFTER SCHOOL COLLABORATION

Beginning Tuesday, August 30th students may stay after school from 3:10 until 4:00 pm to work together on homework, use a computer, or get questions answered.  Students should sign up on the sheet outside of my classroom if they plan to come and should arrive with specific questions on topics they need help with. Parents, please pick up students in front of the school at 4:00 pm.

REMINDER   :)

• Lesson 1-4 in Math XL (students access Math XL through Digits as demonstrated in class. This homework deadline has been extended to 8/26.
• Online quiz in Math due 8/24 if not completed in class.

Today we completed the example problems for lesson 2-2 (same for B day tomorrow).  Students may begin 2-2 homework - due 8/26.

Baseline Testing is in Progress

Baseline testing began Friday, the 19th and will continue on Monday, the 22nd for all math classes. MJ2 Students are completing the iReady diagnostic test and algebra students are completing the district baseline. We will be back on track with our lessons beginning Tuesday, the 23rd.

I'm so excited to welcome my students to this exciting new school year. I've been looking forward to meeting everyone and can't wait to get into our routines.

MJ2

MJ 2 will begin this year with rational numbers (add, subtract, multiply, & divide them).  Homework will be online in Digits, which can be accessed under student software on the DCPS website. Give yourself plenty of time to get your homework completed. Do not save it until the last minute. You will run out of time. You should expect your first test to occur by the end of the 2nd week, and we will have 2 quizzes before then.

HOMEWORK:
Lesson 1-1 & 1-2 are due 8/19. I will accept late homework for half credit until 8/23.
No work will be accepted after 8/23.
